Programs

How?

We implement evidence-based falls prevention programs (Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL), Matter of Balance (MOB), and Otago Exercise Program (OEP)) in the community and speak to groups about falls prevention.

What?

Our evidence-based programs include recognizing our fear of falling and the impact that has on our lives, possibly eliminating fall risk hazards we encounter every day whether in our home or out in the community, and encouraging participation in an exercise program that will help to improve your balance and thereby reduce the risk of a fall.

Where?

The Northern Virginia Falls Prevention Alliance provides various programs in Northern Virginia. Our services are available in multiple senior centers, recreation centers, and faith-based organizations. We also provide virtual sessions. If you are interested in a program our website contains a host of information and you can also contact us at rto@marymount.edu.
